1. Brunch Spot: Bakehouse Born & Bread, Greenodd
Bakehouse Born & Bread. Starting out as a small bakery and cafe, their popularity allowed them to expand to their current larger premises in Grenodd, near Ulverston. They are renowned for their delicious pies, cakes, and other baked goods. They also serve a mouthwatering brunch. Hit it at the weekend and you might find yourself queueing for a table but we can guarantee it’s definitely worth it. Open Tuesday to Sunday and super dog friendly.

2. Brunch Spot: Joey’s Cafe, Wray Castle
Joey’s, situated within the picturesque grounds of Wray Castle near Hawkshead serves up delicious plant-based goodies throughout the year. Their brunch menu features all the classics, like french toast, burritos, and grilled ‘sheese’, as well as homemade cakes, bread and superb coffee. They are that cool they even have their own merchandise, should you become a Joey’s fan. Open 7 days a week and dog-friendly.
3. Brunch Spot: Undercrag Studio & Cafe, Torver
Tucked away down a quiet country lane not too far from Coniston you’ll find Undercrag Cafe. Run by the charming Hadwin family this hidden gem serves up delicious, healthy vegan/vegetarian delights. Their menu is ever changing and their cake offering is top tier. To add to the charm, the cafe is situated within the art studio of Jackie Hadwin so you can sit and enjoy your brunch whilst admiring the beautifull artwork that adorns the walls. Open Thursday to Sunday & dog-friendly.

4. Brunch Spot: Steam Bistro, Coniston
Once a popular evening hotspot where booking in advance was a necessity, Steam has rebranded itself and now offers relaxed breakfasts, brunches and all day lunches. The small team take great pride on sourcing the best local produce and serving up creative dishes with their ever changing menu. Most definitely a must visit when in Coniston and the best part no need to book, walk-ins only! A popular brunch spot in the heart of Winderemere, offering brew, brunch and good times. Their brunch menu features classics like french toast, eggs royale and their legendary hash browns.
